Subzero Engineering recently completed the first commercial deployment of its innovative Composite AisleFrame (CAF) System for a leading colocation data center provider in the northeastern United States.
Faced with the challenges of an active, raised-floor facility, Subzero developed a customized solution that combines lightweight construction, modular flexibility, and structural support for critical overhead infrastructure.
Discover how Subzero’s engineering expertise helped transform complex site requirements into a practical, adaptable data center solution.
The Challenge: Engineering Around Existing Infrastructure
Not every data center can accommodate conventional containment infrastructure.
For this project, the customer needed a containment framework that could operate within an existing raised-floor environment while supporting overhead infrastructure, minimizing ceiling suspension, and avoiding unnecessary concrete drilling.
Subzero’s engineering team evaluated the facility’s structural requirements and developed a customized approach using Composite AisleFrame with supplemental steel supports beneath the raised floor.
The result demonstrated how CAF can be adapted to challenging real-world conditions without sacrificing its lightweight, modular advantages.
