Larry is the founder of Subzero Engineering. Prior to Subzero Larry founded both TEC International and DP Environmental Service. After selling TEC International to Pentagon Technologies in 1998 Larry served there as the SVP of Sales / Marketing. Educational credits include Georgia Tech and the National Environmental Balancing Bureau. Larry has served on the IBM Disaster Recovery Commission with several high profile cases that include the Bank of New York recovery at ground zero, the St. Thomas Hospital recovery after Hurricane Marilyn, and the document recovery at the Oklahoma City bombing.
As CEO, Charlie oversees the daily operations of both the office and manufacturing plant for Subzero Engineering. Charlie spent the first part of his professional career in public accounting where he sharpened his skills performing financial statement audits for mid-size privately held organizations. His love for the outdoors motivated him to make the move from Philadelphia, PA to Salt Lake City, UT in the summer of 2009. Shortly there after, Charlie joined the Subzero Engineering team as CFO. Charlie graduated from Arcadia University, Glenside, PA. Charlie is an avid skateboarder, showcased by the half pipe he built in his backyard. He is also a runner and participates in distance races. Above all else, Charlie loves spending time with his cherished wife and high maintenance, but endearing bulldog.
While enjoying a successful career in the mechanical industry Vince was asked by Larry Mainers to join him in the creation of Subzero. Utilizing Subzero as a creative outlet he began designing airflow management products and became fluent in multiple CFD software packages. As things developed Vince took on the development and management of the sales effort around the world. In Vince's private moments, he enjoys music, is an avid cyclist, and self-pronounced "foodie"... but loves nothing more than spending time with his lovely wife.
Daren’s career began in the commercial air conditioning sector. He worked successfully in that business for over fifteen years, working in a variety of roles. He then moved into the data center business via a CRAC manufacturer. Following that he moved to a major multi-national that increased his overall understanding of the data center market. Presently he oversees the European arm of Subzero Engineering and is tasked with managing his team in their day to day operations and with developing the Subzero brand throughout Europe. In his downtime Daren enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He loves listening to all types of music and plays soccer regularly.
Todd has been with Subzero from its early years. He has done everything from sales to installation, order fulfillment to shipping. He has helped and morphed roles as the company has grown. Playing the role of wearing many hats has come from his long history of growing up in his family-owned business in Florida where his parents gave him a rich education in business management. In his time outside of work, Todd has a passion for handstand pushups, box jumps and burpees, aka CrossFit. He also dabbles in photography, loves hiking Zion National Park (or any other National Park for that matter), being a Real Salt Lake season ticket holder, and having his beautiful wife by his side every step of the way.
During his time at Subzero Engineering Mark has been responsible for operations, product deployment and sales, modifications, product research and development, and development of site specific solutions. Mark brings a wealth of knowledge from his previous Mechanical Contracting history. Before starting at Subzero, Mark was the President and Operations Manager of Mechanical Contractor, Ramrk Inc. He is a Master Licensed Mechanical HVAC Contractor and Journeyman, certified by ICC as Mechanical Systems Inspector for commercial/industrial systems, certified for various municipalities as Mech Systems HVAC Inspector and is a Master Licensed Plumbing Contractor and Journeyman.
Nick fulfills the role of Containment Product Manager, where his mechanical background and education assist him in developing creative solutions that focus on client needs. He possesses a knowledge and aptitude with several CADD packages that allow him to do his job as effectively as possible. His love of architecture moves him to create products that are esthetically pleasing as well as functional. Favorite design quote "Always design a thing by considering it in its next larger contest - a chair in a room, a room in a house, a house in an environment, an environment in a city plan." Sarah Strong brings twelve years of accounting experience to Subzero Engineering. She graduated Cume Laude at Steven's Henager Business College with an emphasis in business accounting. Sarah's work experience includes: manufacturing, non-destructive testing materials, wholesale, retail, and hospitality. She specializes in multiple accounting systems, basic accounting principles, and typical accounting duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial statements. Her confidence, values, and enthusiasm in accounting is evident in both her work and creative personality. Sarah applies her creativity to scrapbooking in her spare time. She is very involved in and dedicated to her church and in enjoying spending time with her family.
Ryan joined Subzero after working in construction for 20 years. He has a background in electrical, pipefitting, and customer service that provided the technical skills needed to excel at containment. Ryan also has a background in designing process having utilized Auto Cad which has helped in the multiple design concepts and skills needed for his understanding in the evolution of containment. Ryan enjoys managing and working with people, problem solving, and completing new projects and design innovations that meet and exceed the expectations of the customer. Besides the love of his life - his wife Juanita - his favorite love is cooking. He can whip up any spicy saucy pasta dish at a moment's notice. Running keeps him sane during those rare off hours.
Before hiring on to Subzero Engineering, Gary was the Founder / Owner / Operator of multiple businesses including Red Wolf Long Haul Trucking, TNG Automotive, and Utah Auto Spa. Gary has extensive background in the mechanical field; welding, fabrication, auto electronics and wiring. He utilizes this background to help develop and install products for Subzero. As of 2012 Gary has been the Manager for the west coast Site Service department. In his down time he enjoys hunting, fishing, reloading, 4-wheeling, and most of all... his family.
Rick has an extensive background in electrical power and control, instrumentation and automation system programming who utilizes his knowledge and skills to provide the technical direction in development of power and cabinets for Subzero Engineering. Rick holds Master Electrical licenses in multiple states and is certified in all aspects of data center design including the power chain, cooling chain, IT infrastructure, energy efficiency, and project management. Rick enjoys remote camping, fishing and hunting in the mountains of Western USA and spending time with his family.
JR joined Subzero with an extensive background in logistics and implementing Policies and procedures. This has enabled him to minimize the cost of shipping to our customers without compromising the quality of service. JR's duties at Subzero include managing shipping and receiving, quoting, tracking, and always looking for new ways to streamline the Shipping Department. In his spare time, JR enjoys spending time with his family, his lovely wife Jill, and beautiful daughter Lilly Moon.
As the Order Fulfillment Specialist, Kellie inspects every sales order to make sure everything is correct before entering it into the system. She works closely with the sales reps and manufacturing department to ensure a smooth ordering process. Her quick wit, keen sense of humor, positive attitude, and infectious laugh light up the office all day, every day. Kellie's hobbies include shopping, spending time with friends, and taking care of her husband and two beautiful daughters.
Steve is the Site Services Project Manager for Subzero Engineering. He is responsible for coordinating all aspects of installation services, which includes developing and growing the department as a whole; assisting in the design, bidding, and approval process; as well as project planning, coordination, and execution of all on-site installations. Steve has some 20 years of project and operations management experience to draw from. His personal interests include all sorts of outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and kayaking with his wife and 3 kids.
Gordon graduated from New Jersey Institute of Technology with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He has over 20 years experience in Control Systems that include Building Access Control, Building Automation Controls, HMI design and programming, and PLC programming. He utilizes this experience with Subzero Engineering while performing CFDs and by working with the DCIM design team. He also has 19 years of Volunteer Fire Fighting experience, which includes Firefighter Level 1 and Level 2 training in New York State. In his spare time, he enjoys playing ice hockey, and he is also patiently waiting for the New York Rangers to win the Stanley Cup.
Martin started with Subzero Engineering as the Technical Writer for the Engineering Department. His education and background in biological lab and field work allowed him to hone his technical writing skill set. He now fulfills the role of Project Designer for Subzero Data Center Engineering Ltd in Ireland. Outside of work, you'll find Martin in the mountains pursuing his passions for climbing, trail running, photography, and writing.
Shannon graduated from the Salt Lake Community College with a degree in Visual Art and Design - Multimedia Emphasis. She brings more than 10 years of experience in creating marketing materials, websites, videos, graphics, and more. As the Marketing Creative Specialist for Subzero Engineering she looks forward to creating amazing marketing materials to further separate Subzero from its competitors and promote sales. Away from work she enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her husband and two sons.
Tim has twelve years of commercial construction experience, and seven years of data center experience. He came into the data center world as the Facility Manager at the QTS Metro Atlanta Data Center. Over the course of his seven-year term, he transitioned from Facility Manger to Special Projects and on to Data Center Design Engineer with the QTS engineering group. As a former Subzero end user, Tim understood the value of a strong partnership. The data center industry is an ever evolving, highly dynamic environment. Building strong relationships with clients and setting the standard for service were key to Subzero winning his business.
Lloyd moved from stationary engineering in New York City to the Data Center environment 25 years ago. His HVAC and facilities background has given him a full grasp of thermal environments and heat exchange principles that are required for efficiently removing heat load in data centers. He has worked internationally, providing engineering and industrial solutions for both facility and IT initiatives. Further he has performed hundreds of CFD analysis achieving optimum data center layout and cooling solutions. Presently he provides strategic support to clients in the North East sector of the United States where he resides. In his many travels, Lloyd enjoys learning about history, touring museums, and sharing all that he's discovered as a resident tour guide to any one who visits his neck of the woods.
Howard brings over thirty years experience to Subzero in the electrical, critical space, and data center industries. He began his career in 1978, establishing an Electrical Contracting firm in California. After relocating to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1988, Howard worked as a project engineer in the power quality arena and managed accounts inside data center and colocation space. He then served as president for Advanced Power and Cooling Solutions and designed and placed critical space infrastructure throughout the Western U.S. Later, Howard joined Data Specialities as a Senior Sales and Project Engineer with responsibilities focused on vertical markets within the data center environment.
As Staff Accountant, Ricardo deals with all accounting tasks in our Ireland office. Ricardo has a background in both personal and commercial accounts and tax. He also looks after many aspects of Human Resources and Administration. Away from work he enjoys spending time outdoors and with friends and family.
Sasa was hired on with the company when it was still in its early stages. As the business has grown so has he, being trained and mentored by those who have more experience in business. This has provided excellent work experience. He has been able to fill multiple roles in the business, from production to management. He is currently overseeing the production in Subzero EU. In his off time he enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures. He also has a love of anything automotive and has a strong inclination to tinker with anything mechanical… which often results with disaster.
Erin's duties at Subzero include keeping track of and ordering office supplies, communicating between fellow employees and customers to schedule jobs, as well as keeping track of and organizing expenses incurred on jobs. Prior to joining the Subzero team, her employment as a medical assistant for a dermatologist helped her to develop communication and organization skills. In her spare time, Erin enjoys various outdoor activities and spending time with her lovely husband, Garrett and their cat, Gravy.
