Subzero Engineering best practice products are designed with simplicity in mind. Our products never add to the thermal load by the use of motors. All incorporate the true science of airflow recognizing the natural properties of hot and cold air. Our products represent the best in the industry:
Simple, scientific, and moderately priced.

Energy-Efficiency recommendations and Best Practices

Good Airflow Management is critical to an energy-efficient data center. The best practices recommended are:

  • Consider several possible airflow cooling architectures. Some may be better suited for a particular computer equipment mix and/or layout than others. If there is any question about proper performance, a CFD study is recommended for analysis and optimization.

  • Provide good separation between the supply and return air pathways. A hot aisle/cold-aisle design is an effective approach for this separation.

  • Select as high a supply air temperature as will provide sufficient cooling to the computer equipment to maximize cooling equipment efficiency and the number of available economizer hours.

  • Select energy-efficient fans, fan motors, and VFDs to keep fan energy consumption to a minimum.

  • Recognize that computer equipment loads will change over the next 15 years. Develop a cooling distribution strategy that can accommodate these changes.
